Another application counts objects in the image.
How many are there in the two images?
In the first one there are 495 and in the second one there are 34.
It works perfectly when objects are convex and well seperated. It works as well when objects touch or overlap.
A watershed operation is used to seperate the objects. This works good although it doesn't always yield the right results.
